The American Institute in Taiwan begins collecting biometric identifiers, or electronic fingerprints, for immigrant visa applicants on Monday, September 13, 2004. This program is also extended to include the fingerprints of nonimmigrant visa applicants on Wednesday, September 15, 2004.
