Digital Confluence: Southeast Meets Far East

Introduction
Online Exhibits

John A. LabadieThe work in this exhibition represents a confluence of artistic perspectives, life experiences, traditional art making techniques, and digital technologies. Digital devices that store data and computer programs that give the artist the ability manipulate information are probably the most versatile fine art tools in history.

Fulbright Scholar, John Antoine Labadie's personal, expressive works are derived through a variety of digital technologies and traditional techniques he calls, "painting with pixels."

Margie B. LabadieMargie Labadie's personal, expressive works represent a seamless flow of digital techniques, chemical photography, and traditional printmaking. Much of her imagery focuses on the historical and linguistic relationships between birds and humans.

The Labadies both teach in the Art Department at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and at National Chengchi University, Taipei, Taiwan. Their work is exhibited nationally and internationally.

Seen together, their work is a gathering, a flowing, a meeting of shared life experiences and understandings.
