Jennifer Angus

Born 1961, Edmonton, Alberta
Maintains a studio in Madison, Wisconsin

Jennifer Angus received her training at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  In SASA BUG!, she combines images of her son, Sasa, with photo-transfers of bugs to create a darkly humorous quilt.

"The bed is a place of critical life moments-conception, birth, death-but is is also associated with comfort.  It is a place to recuperate or seek solitude and cry.  The beds of SASA BUG! instantly suggest childhood because of their size, but the imagery on the quilts suggests a night-marish land."
