Nancy Crow
Born 1943, Loudonville, Ohio
Maintains a studio west of Baltimore, Ohio
Nancy Crow studied textiles and ceramics at Ohio
State University. Focused on weaving at the
beginning of her career, she taught herself to quilt
in the early 1970s, and by the 1980s she was working
exclusively in this medium, exhibiting and
conducting workshops internationally. Her
groundbreaking work in the field has been enormously
influential in the development of the art quilt.
Color Blocks marks the starting point of her
improvisational approach and a turning point in her
career. |
